Primary School Jumble Sale - 2010?
« on: February 08, 2010, 11:01:30 am »
Does anyone know if the Primary School are having their jumble sale this year?

If so, do you know the date?

I think the school has decided that it was not possible to hold a jumble sale this year. It has been a very successful fundraiser in the past, and I'm sure the school and PTA would like to thank everyone who helped and who donated jumble.

However, with the expensive equipment etc now in school, it did pose a security risk. Also, there was an issue about the children taking time off lessons to "resassemble" their classrooms.

It's the end of an old tradition, but I guess that everything ends eventually.  :) I'm sure that the school is looking for events to replace the loss in income.

In the meantime, I believe that the North Mymms community centre still holds regular jumble sales.

What a shame, especially as it probably was the income from the Jumble sales that paid for the expensive equipment !!!

Thanks for the replies and I agree with epiphany that it's a shame.

I was hoping to get rid of a couple of black bags of jumble as I did arrange for someone from the Community Centre to pick it up a few months ago for theirs but nobody turned up  ???

We have a garage full of quality jumble - would be good to hand it over.
The Brookmans Park Newsletter has been supporting the village and our local community since 1998 by providing free, interactive tools for all to use.

I thought the school had just postponed the jumble sale until the autumn, but perhaps Susan has more up to date info than me.
