LEACH FIELD VANDALISM
« on: August 25, 2009, 05:43:20 pm »
Mindless vandals have repeatedly caused damage on Leach Fields.  On numerous occassions within the past few weeks, fences have been cut and the horses have been released from the field.  Not only is this criminal damage but they are committing offences under Section 4 (1) of The Animal Welfare Act 2006 by, "causing unnecessary suffering to protected animals". The horses are deliberately left to wander into the roads around Brookmans Park and left to wander the surrounding areas, distressed, and not recognising their whereabouts. It goes without saying that it is a miracle a serious accident has not been the result of these irresponsible people's actions.

The vandals may have scored a bit of an own goal by leaving a pair of bolt croppers at the scene.  These are currently with our SOCCO department who will be conducting tests on them to identify fingerprints/DNA etc.

CCTV cameras have been installed and the fields are being closely monitored by police. Anybody found in the area will be dealt with appropriately. If anybody has information as to who these vandals are, then they can contact myself on 01707 806947 or PC Jo WAKELEN 01707 806470 or can call the non-emergency number 0845 33 00 222
PCSO, Louise Luxford, the police community support officer for Brookmans Park and Little Heath. For non-emergencies, please calll 0845 33 00222.
