Richard Juby Gamekeeper
« on: February 09, 2009, 12:55:03 pm »
I am looking for information about my great grandfather Richard Juby he was shown on the 1891 census as head gamekeeper living at 76 pancake hall road. By 1901 they had moved to 56 Pooley lane. His son is commemorated on the North Mymms war memorial and is buried in france being killed near hill 60 in 1915. Any information on where they lived would be gratefully welcomed many thanks Nigel Juby.

There was a Pancake Hall which became known as 54 Dixons Hill Close, Welham Green.  It has been demolished but here is a picture of it which I obtained from the NM Local History Soc.

If you look in the history section of this website there is a series of photos of North Mymms and the chpter on Welham Green includes a picture of Pancake Hall Cottages.  The link is http://www.brookmans.com/history/pictures/ch1.shtml
