Bluebridge Road House
« on: January 16, 2009, 12:50:38 pm »
Just been shown this new plan to build a second house on Bluebridge Road between Moffats lane and Bluebridge Avenue:

S6/2008/2393/FP
  • LAND TO THE REAR OF 2 - 4 MOFFATS LANE BROOKMANS PARK HATFIELD HERTFORDSHIRE AL9 7RU
  • ERECTION OF FIVE BEDROOM DETACHED DWELLING

The consultation period has finished so I am not sure if anyone can still object.

Doesn't look much different to the house next door built in the gardens of the first houses in Bluebridge Ave. So I guess as that has set a precedent there doesn't seem much chance of it not been approved.

A cursory glance might lead you to think that is is similar to the nearby house built on back gardens, but a closer inspection proves otherwise.

North Mymms Parish Council has objected on the grounds that it would appear to be over dominant in relationship to the adjoining property at No 24, and the proposed design is out of character and out of keeping with the street scene.

People can still object or comment and their views should be taken into account right up to  few days before a decision is made.

This application was refused on 29th January 2009.

In summary it would be unduly dominant and a prominant feature within the surrounding streetscene.  It would have an undesirable cramped appearance within a spacious streetscene as a result of overdevelopment of the site.  There would be inadequate separation from 2-4  Moffats Lane.  There would be insufficient off street parking.
