Google in 2001!

Interesting piece from Brandrepublic today about Google opening up it's search archive from 2001 - how tings have changed when you search for them...

You can view old web pages too, though unfortunately Brookmans.com doesn't seem to be working.

Google reopens 2001 search index
by Staff, Brand Republic 06-Oct-08, 11:50

SAN FRANCISCO - Google has relaunched its 2001 search index to provide a light-hearted look at the growth of web use over the past seven years.

To mark its 10th birthday, Google has made available its oldest readily accessible search index for one month only, which users can browse the comparatively tiny search engine, including links to websites as they appeared in 2001.

Another way to look at how pages used to look is to go to this one:

(which I found on here once before)

hahaha - good to see the old Brookmans Park Hotel being the most read and commented on in 2002 as well...  Different owners, same problems...
