Incident at Brookmans Park Station?
« on: August 11, 2008, 01:18:26 pm »
Just heard an item on the travel on the radio about an incident at Brookmans Park Station causing delays between Kings Cross and Stevenage.

They didn't say what it was though

I went past the station about 13.00.   A FCC train on Northbound fast line had stopped next to platform 3 and a Hull Trains train had stopped on the fast line south at the station (Platform 2).   A couple of paramedics were on the platform (3) next to the FCC train.

Road traffic is moving fine, but I imagine trains will be held up for some time

What sad news.   We saw the emergency vehicles speeding through Welham Green.  I came to the forum for information - it is our best local news service.

Very unusual to have a fatality at BP and very sad too. Normally they're up at Hatfield where people try to avoid going up and over the stairs and think that crossing the rails would make a great shortcut. I just hope being the school holidays that the incident didnt involve a kid at BP having the same thought.

Sadly, the fatality was a BP resident who was terminally ill and felt that he couldn't face the future. My thoughts are with his family and with the train driver.
