Welwyn Hatfield Friends of the Earth - Day of Action
« on: April 02, 2008, 05:11:37 pm »

Welwyn Hatfield Friends of the Earth will be holding a Day of Action for the Climate Change Bill, in Hatfield Town Centre, this Saturday 5th April, from 9am to 2pm.

We'll be sending a message to Gordon Brown that we want international aviation and shipping emissions included in the Climate Change Bill. We'll be filling the marketplace with big-headed 'Gordons', asking people to sign postcards to the Prime Minister, and joining with MP Grant Shapps for a photocall. We need you support for this! Drop by and sign a postcard, help us with our stall, or come along in a suit and tie and we'll give you a Gordon mask to wear....

Please get in touch with us to offer help or find out more.
Email or call 07914 551 833.

This action is part of a Climate Change Bill Week of Action, organised by iCount/Stop Climate Chaos.

iCount/Stop Climate Chaos is a coalition of environmental, humanitarian, and aid groups, banding together to call for a strong Climate Change law. The Climate Change Bill is currently going through Parliament and is likely to become law soon. Before it does, we want some changes made to it.
We want to see:
The inclusion of the UKs share of emissions from international shipping and aviation.
That it commits to the UK to cutting its emissions by 80 per cent.
That it ensures steady progress by cutting emissions by at least 3 per cent a year.
