According to WHT 750 was taken and 23,000 of damage was caused.

The Transport Police have issues a handy instructional video for anyone interested in taking up this lucrative business.

Still trying to understand the logic in showing people how to do this with a video that has been uploaded to YouTube and which can be shared and embedded endlessly. British Transport Police must have a reason but I am struggling to figure it out.

Perhaps they will explain if they see this tweet.

I think their answer will be that they hope someone will recognise them.

Yes, but that could have been done with screen grabs only. There seems no reason to show the whole video in isolation. Or am I missing something?

The piece on the WHT site does include a fairly good screen grab below the video, so I am puzzled why the how-to-raid-a-ticket-machine video has been made public. I am sure there is a good reason.

I get a train from Potters Bar into London once a month on average, always off peak.

I can honestly say that I've not got a train that hasn't departed at least 5 minutes late for several years.

In many cases they are 10 minutes late and occasionally even worse. It's got to the stage where I don't even bother getting to the station on time now as I know I won't miss it!

I'm frankly amazed that FCC have trains that depart early!

I use the train perhaps once or tewice a week, usually off peak.

Generally they seem to run on time, occasionally (mainly late at night) they run late but not as bad as some people make out. Of course in peak time it might be a different story.

Will be interesting to see how Govia perform when they take over the franchise.

I just came back from Welham Green and noticed the 17.07 to WGC left there early and the 17.14 to Moorgate left Brookmans Park early.
Not a good day watching people have to make a mad dash for the trains.

This @GNRAilUK page for latest trains to and from Brookmans Park has been broken (when buses replace trains) since the new franchise took over. Have sent a reminder. The page they display is not much help. It means the link from our front page is not much use today. It's been three weeks since we first reported it in another thread.

I understand there are replacement buses again today but the live departure board isn't showing the info still.

Works fine...
James

Hi James, yes, I know, and thanks for sharing that link again. However they need to fix the other link because that is the one we use on the front page of the site for normal weekday services (which works fine). It's just that when there are replacement buses, the page fails to let passengers know. It would be nice if they could fix it so that the link from the front page of this site works whether trains or buses are running. David

It's been more than a month now and, @GNRailUK still hasn't fixed its train departure page so that it informs passengers when replacement buses are in operation - despite several tweets saying they will look into it. So, for those who rely on the link on the front page of this site for reliable information - apologies. Perhaps better use this link at weekends just to check. http://traintimes.org.uk/live/bpk

The @GNRailUK tweet below does link through to a page with information (grab below), but the usual link to latest departures and arrivals is still bust.

I have tweeted again to remind them.

I have changed the latest train times link for Brookmans Park and Welham Green on the front page of this site to one suggested by James and which works. Will replace with the Great Northern link when they get round to fixing it. I've also added a link for Potters Bar trains. You can find all three halfway down the left-hand column on the front page of the site.

Looks like the 08:16 Brookmans Park to WGC and the 08:44 Brookmans Park to Moorgate are cancelled.
