The dreaded 'leaf fall timetable' starts today and trains are leaving about 2 minutes early.

Looks like it's just the indicator boards are wrong and they are stopping at Moorgate after all.

FCC have ripped up their timetable and put a new one in place for today. See

http://www.firstcapitalconnect.co.uk/static/filemanager/Great_Northern_revised_tt.pdf

Having said that, I am aware that some people were standing at Brookmans Park around 9:30 waiting for a train to London. The next train to arrive came along at 11:05 so be prepared for a few delays...

All trains are showing as cancelled today. The website claims an 'Emergency' service with trains at 20past and 50past the hour (although the 6:50 didn't appear, appeared early or may have been a late 6:20).

Train services this week have been atrocious to non existant this week. Staff at FCC are clueless and pass this confusion onto the passengers. Noone has any idea of what's going on.

On Tuesday one of the FCC members of staff at Finsbury Park stood at the bottom of the stairs that go to Platforms ' 5 and 6' and just said " go to platform 3 and join a service to Alexandra Place " .. I and others tried to enquire as to what would happen at Aly Paly ; buses , trains etc  ?.. he just ignored our enquiries  with the response " I have been told to tell you to go to platform 3" .. I asked him if he knew what the arrangements were from a Aly Paly .. " yes " .. " are yo going to tell me ? " .. " no I've ben told to tell you to go to platform 3" .

Does anyone know if the rumours of a FCC strike currently popping up on Twitter are true or not?

I hope everyone got home okay last night following the FCC cancellations. Not sure I would have fancied catching a bus home after a night on the town celebrating the new year.

I see there are another 10 cancellations today. Worth keeping an eye on this page if you are planning to travel by train.

http://www.journeycheck.com/firstcapitalconnect/route

If you click on the 'expand' tab on that page you will see the note "This train will be cancelled. This is due to a member of train crew being unavailable" despite the link giving a due time.

An example of the expanded version below.

Got stuck down the line for 30 mins waiting for a train. Just checked the online system and have seen that there are no trains for a 90 minute period at brookmans park this evening. Hope this isn't the start of a return to the bad old days of mass cancellations we had a few years ago...

Journey Check is showing that trains are running normally this morning after the recent cancellations. Could any early commuters confirm, please?

Thanks John. Saw on Twitter that there were a few FCC breakdowns reported by upset commuters and just wanted to check.

There's currently no trains running between Finsbury Park and Moorgate due to signal failures though which will affect things... and with my optimistic hat on I expect this wind will bring power lines down somewhere before the end of the day so none of us can get home again!

From the First Capital Connect site.

Line problem: between Moorgate and Finsbury Park
Owing to signalling problems between Moorgate and Finsbury Park all lines are blocked.
Impact: Train services running through these stations may be diverted to London Kings Cross at short notice. All stations between Moorgate and Finsbury Park will not be served. An estimate for the resumption of normal services will be provided as soon as the problem has been fully assessed.
Customer Advice: London Underground are accepting FCC tickets.

On second thoughts I am removing the widget. After monitoring the feed I noticed that heated emotions have resulted in some fairly choice expressions not appropriate for a family site.
