Willow Foundation
« on: December 29, 2007, 07:22:07 am »
The BBC is reporting that Brookmans Park resident Bob Wilson, a former Arsenal player, has been awarded an OBE in the New Year Honours list, for founding and developing the Willow Foundation, a charity which provides special days for seriously ill young adults.

According to the Willow Foundation website, the aim of every special day is to help a young adult (aged 16 to 40) living with a serious illness to spend quality time with family and/or friends. The Foundation organises and funds everything involved in the day including transport, activity fees, tickets and accommodation, where necessary.

The site says Bob and Megs Wilson founded the Willow Foundation in memory of their daughter Anna, who died of cancer shortly before her 32nd birthday.
