George Shiells
« on: February 22, 2007, 07:14:52 am »
The Chancellor's School website is reporting the death of George Shiells, "a stalwart governor and supporter of the school since its beginnings in 1964."

The school site says Mr Shiells was Chair of Governors for more than 20 years, and played the leading role in the campaign to keep the school open in 1980-1981.

The school says his contribution to the school continued until his death and was immense.

"He will be sorely missed."

Those of you who new George may wish to visit the web site opened by his children. It gives some of his history and provides a way of inputting memories of him. It is at http://www.georgeshiells.co.uk
