A View on Tax
« on: February 19, 2007, 08:02:57 pm »
So can it be true? Have Uncles Tony and Gordon finally lost the plot and genuinely intend to tax BP residents (and others) for the privaledge of having a little peace and quiet. If todays headlines are anything to go by - the answer is yes!

This latest follow-on from the last bright idea about taxing anyone fortunate enough to have a view has to be the 'cream on the cake' in the book on how to cause unrest in peaceful places.

How can this be properly policed I wonder - do you pay less tax if you only have a decent view from one window as opposed to several  .. OR do you get a tax discount if the kids on the village green are making too much noise one night?

Confound the enemy - brick up the windows and encourage the neighbours to turn up the music. Perhaps then BP can return to its peaceful origins and attract less interference from the powers that be.

Hi Welham,

Welcome to the forum.

When referring to a national story, please add a link to your post so that people know what issue you are referring to.

That will enable other forum users to contribute to the debate you have started.

Thanks

David
