Local child-friendly places?
« on: January 21, 2003, 09:29:20 pm »
Please can anyone help me with some ideas?

We have friends visiting us in a fortnight. There will be around 13 adults and 13 children, aged up to 8. We'd like to go out somewhere not too expensive for lunch or maybe for the day. (I did think of Willows Farm, but it's shut until April.)

Ideally, I'd like a nice restaurant with a separate locked soundproofed barn for the children  :)  :)  :).

Failing that, can anyone suggest somewhere family-friendly that might fit the bill? Maybe somewhere with a children's play area?

I don't really want a stressed meal/outing, or to disturb others.

Thank you in advance for any help.

The Sidthorp Arms in Welham Green is very family friendly. You may be able to book the whole resturant in advance. Failing that TGI Fridays in Enfield is popular with kids, but with a party that size I'd ring in advance.

Paradise Park is open year round

The children may enjoy Castaway Kids in St Albans ( 01727 844991) , although there is little for the adults to do except have a cup of tea. They also serve food - chicken nugets etc
