DID YOU SEE CAR HIT TREE?

By Corporate Communication Dept

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a car was in collision with a tree in Brookmans Park, resulting in the death of the 50 year old driver.

The incident occurred at around 1.15am on the morning of Saturday, November 4, in Shepherds Way, Brookmans Park.

Residents who called the emergency services, initially believed that the tree had come down in the road and only later realised that the blue Proton Impian was trapped underneath the fallen tree with the male driver still inside.

The victim, who is from Hatfield, was taken to the QEII Hospital but sadly did not survive.

Investigating officer PC James Sarson said: “We would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the initial accident or who came upon it after the tree came down.

“We understand the tree was blocking the road and drivers may have had to carry out u-turns in the road.

“If you can help, please call 0845 33 00 222, quoting URN 120 of 4/11/06.”
